New Chapter in WCF Courseware
May 5, 2012.
Object Innovations today released updated courses on Windows Communication Foundation
for C# and Visual Basic developers using Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4.0.
Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) is Microsoft’s new framework for building distributed systems.
It unifies and builds on older distributive technologies such as ASP.NET Web services and .NET remoting.
WCF is a large, complex technology. Its sheer size can make it quite intimidating, and the learning curve
can be steep. But if the basic principles
are grasped and you have practice using it in some basic scenarios, you should be equipped to apply it in your
applications and to learn more.
The newest version of the course has added a chapter on WCF Routing. The WCF Routing Service,
introduced in .NET 4.0, provides a generic SOAP intermediary that can route messages to other WCF endpoints
based on message content. With the Routing Service you can create logic to implement many routing scenarios,
such as protocol bridging, service versioning and multicast routing. The new chapter includes several complete
example programs and a lab.
Shipments of the new courseware begin immediately.
