ASP.NET MVC Courseware Updated to Visual Studio 2013
February 12, 2014.
Object Innovations today released an updated course on ASP.NET MVC for C# developers using
Visual Studio 2013 and .NET 4.5.1
This Web development framework from Microsoft, following the Model-View-Controller design pattern,
emphasizes separation of concerns in the architecture
and testability of applications. The updated course now includes a new chapter which introduces Windows Azure
and covers deployment on the Azure cloud. The course uses the Razor view engine throughout.
The Model chapter uses
Entity Framework 6 and the LocalDB version of SQL Server 2012 Express, which is bundled with Visual Studio 2013.
The chapter on unit testing now uses the built-in Visual Studio Unit Test Framework instead of NUnit,
as it is now available with the free Express versions of Visual Studio 2013. The chapter on Web API
now uses ASP.NET Web API 2
The course is a quite thorough introduction to ASP.NET MVC programming using C#. It endeavors to
give insight into how ASP.NET MVC works as well as provide how-to instruction. The course is hands-on,
with numerous programming examples and exercises and in-class demonstrations that can be led by
the instructor. It can be delivered using any version of Visual Studio 2013.
Shipments of the updated courseware begin immediately.
