WCF Courseware Updated to Visual Studio 2013
June 16, 2014.
Object Innovations today released an update to .NET 4.5.1 and Visual Studio 2013 of its
course on Windows Communication Foundation:
Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) is Microsoft’s new framework for building distributed systems.
It unifies and builds on older distributive technologies such as ASP.NET Web services and .NET remoting.
WCF is a large, complex technology. Its sheer size can make it quite intimidating, and the learning curve
can be steep. But if the basic principles
are grasped and you have practice using it in some basic scenarios, you should be equipped to apply it in your
applications and to learn more.
This version of the course includes coverage of new features in WCF 4.5 such as new bindings
and the task-based asynchronous pattern. Examples use .NET 4.5.1 and Visual Studio 2013. It also
compares WCF with Web API,
a new technology for creating services based on HTTP.
Shipments of the new courseware begin immediately.
