ASP.NET AJAX Courseware Updated to Visual Studio 2013

July 16, 2014. Object Innovations today released an update to .NET 4.5.1 and Visual Studio 2013 of its course on ASP.NET AJAX:

AJAX, or "Asynchronous JavaScript and XML," is an important modern Web technology, part of what is sometimes called "Web 2.0." It is a standards-based approach to building rich Internet application that offer users a highly interactive user interface experience. Microsoft's ASP.NET AJAX, used in conjunction with Visual Studio 2013, provides a highly productive environment for ASP.NET developers in creating AJAX applications.

In the new revision, chapters on JavaScript and jQuery have been deleted and placed in a new, separate one-day Object Innovations course 3201, Introduction to JavaScript and jQuery. Course 4145 is now two-days in length. The database examples now use the LocalDB version of SQL Server 2012, which is bundled with Visual Studio 2013. The last chapter on Application Services has been replaced by a new chapter on jQuery UI and JuiceUI.

There are a great many example programs and many labs. The course includes a case study, the implementation of an interactive website for the Acme Book Club, which illustrates a number of features of ASP.NET AJAX working together.

Shipments of the new courseware begin immediately.
